What does Gian Saunders, aka The Fierce Female Financier, consider her most impressive accomplishment? “I think being able to successfully run a business with your best friend, be with him all day at the office, and go home and be with him the rest of the evening there,” she reveals. Together, Saunders and her fiancé, Brett Pipkin, run one of Southern California’s most successful financial firms. Pipkin agreed with Saunders’s choice, even among their respective lists of impressive accolades.
“We both know we’re doing this business to better each other, our home, and this world,” Saunders shares. Their shared mission is to strengthen communities nationwide in terms of money habits and financial literacy. Saunders and Pipkin both grew up in areas where they experienced poverty and poor money habits first-hand. Realizing the systemic issues that were implicating these underserved community members, they discovered they had a passion for sharing their financial knowledge with everyone they could reach.
“You’re not stupid, or dumb, for not knowing the things that we should’ve been taught long ago,” Saunders reassures. The couple has addressed some of the biggest financial issues plaguing our country, which include financial illiteracy and unhealthy monetary relationships. Aiming to take their message across the country, Saunders and Pipkin are currently focusing on what they can do in San Diego and within Southern California. In the coming years, they are aiming to educate future financial leaders who can take their message to new firms throughout America. “We want to make sure that we instill healthy relationships with money and also help people create healthy financial habits,” Saunders says, “because it all begins in the home.”
