Josh Pather was Always an Entrepreneur, but His Photo Booth Idea Took Him to the Next Level.

Josh Pather knew he had a gift for entrepreneurship at a young age. In his early years, he went from mowing lawns, to selling shoes he had bought at a 300% markup essentially building a dropshipping business. While this led to the occasional odd look from people, it never deterred him from honing his craft.

These businesses as a child and young adult turned into a path forward for his career in the future.

“I got a job at a local bank, but my entrepreneurial spirit quickly got the best of me again. I started a DJ business with a friend from the bank, and soon we were doing events together. I achieved success as a DJ and was invited to open for Dash Berlin, one of the top-5 DJs in the world. We saw an opportunity to add more value to our DJ gigs by incorporating a photo booth. The first booth was built from wood purchased at the local lumberyard and was built from scratch by the two of us,” Josh recounts.

The photo booth was a huge success and even though the partnership was short lived, Josh didn’t stop with his vision. In just a few years, his business had taken off and was helping 800 different clients for high profile industries and events. However, he took his business to the next level by responding to the constant questions he got as to how people could create their own photo booths

“In 2015, I responded to a growing demand from people wondering where they could purchase a photo booth. I created my solution with Photo Booth International (PBI). I now run a photo booth manufacturing business where we sell to people who want to start a successful photo booth rental business. Aside from making high quality photo booths, we also give them the training and community they need to jumpstart their business,” Josh explained.

Josh’s biggest obstacle was finding the right people to fit his ever expanding business. He had to find trustworthy people who would fit his brand well and work well collaboratively with him. Once he did that, the sky was the limit!

“It took me a while to find the right people to hire. I’ve learned a lot through trial and error. For me, working with family didn’t work out and I had to learn what traits and qualities to look for in employees. I can’t run a business by myself, it takes a team of dedicated people to build it up with me. Without the right people in place, PBI wouldn’t be what it is today,” Josh says.

Josh is differentiating himself from others in the business by going the extra mile every day with the communication to his customers to ensure that they understand the entire process. He details his process below:

“We go the extra mile to communicate with our customers every step of the way. If customers want to visit our showroom in Dallas we arrange airport pickup, hotel and food. We treat them like VIPs all the way. Business is built on relationships and I think many business owners have forgotten about this. At this moment we have over 219 Five Star Reviews in Google. That’s a huge accomplishment for us and says alot about how we run our business. Customers don’t come to us for the cheapest prices because we are not the cheapest. They come for the customer service, quality, care, effort and attention we put into what we do.”
